Liverpool should be looking into a Michael Olise transfer and he would not cause Cristiano Ronaldo-esque problems at Anfield, says Jan Molby.

Questions asked of Salah's futureFrench star already shining in EnglandDoubts cast over Mbappe chancesWHAT HAPPENED?
The Reds are aware that speculation continues to rage when it comes to the long-term future of Mohamed Salah on Merseyside. If he were to move on in the summer of 2024, amid talk of big-money offers from Saudi Arabia, then somebody would be required to fill a sizeable void in Jurgen Klopp’s plans.

Molby, speaking in association with , told GOAL when asked who he would have his eye on in the recruitment market: “It won’t do Crystal Palace any favours, but I’d take the boy Michael Olise. He looks a terrific player. You look at players and ask ‘how far can he go?’ It looks to me like he has got the whole package. He could be within what Liverpool are prepared to pay in terms of a transfer fee. He’s signed the new contract, that I’m sure has a release clause in it, so he will probably be a straightforward transfer, but I don’t know if they are interested or not. If I was Liverpool, I would certainly have a good look at that boy.”
THE BIGGER PICTURE
There has been the odd question of Olise’s attitude since spending time in the academy ranks of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City, but Molby is confident that the talented 22-year-old would not rock the boat at Liverpool. The Reds legend added: “I think that you walk into a dressing room like Liverpool and the dressing room polices itself. You will have people – not as many as there used to be with James Milner, Jordan Henderson leaving – but the likes of Virgil van Dijk and the people around him, Trent Alexander-Arnold and the experienced members of the pack, they will police that. I don’t think there is anywhere to go other than with the rest of them. Liverpool is one of those football clubs where a player will never win an argument against a Liverpool manager or the club. The club will always be supported by everyone. You had the situation at Manchester United where there was a lot of support for the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Paul Pogba – you would never experience that at Liverpool. If Olise came, he would have nowhere to go other than to do and go with what the rest of them do. I think he would be absolutely fine.”
GettyDID YOU KNOW?
While talking up a potential raid on Premier League rivals for one exciting French forward, Molby is not convinced that another could be lured away from Paris Saint-Germain. The Dane said of the rumours putting Liverpool in the mix for World Cup winner Kylian Mbappe: “The money involved, his wages, would be the one thing that makes me doubtful that it could happen – I just couldn’t see Liverpool wanting to get involved in numbers as high as that. We saw how it was before they gave Salah his contract, they really gave it some thought about ‘is this what we really want to do?’ With Salah they thought they can justify this with his numbers, his availability and everything else. With Kylian Mbappe, there is no doubt he’s a terrific talent and it would be great to see him at Anfield, but I think it’s a long shot. I think Liverpool are more likely to find a younger gem, more untried and untested. On the other hand, it would solve a problem wouldn’t it!”
