In men's football, Guardiola led Manchester City to an historic treble last season after winning the Premier League, the club's first Champions League title, and the FA Cup.
Inter Milan boss Inzaghi guided his team to the 2022-23 Coppa Italia and they lost to City in the final of the UCL, whereas Spalletti oversaw Napoli's first Serie A triumph since 1990; plus they reached the UCL quarter-finals for the first time in their history.
In women's football, Barcelona boss Jonatan Giraldez led the Spanish side to a continental treble last term, Emma Hayes guided Chelsea to a domestic league and cup double, and Wiegman continued her superb England spell as the Lionesses reached the 2023 World Cup final.

The selection criteria for the coaches of the year include performance and general behaviour of their teams on and off the pitch. The votes are decided by media representatives, national team coaches and captains. Last year, Lionel Scaloni won the men's award after Argentina's World Cup triumph and Wiegman won the women's one after England's Euro 2022 glory – the third time she has won the prize.

WHAT NEXT?
Barcelona boss Xavi and Ange Postecoglou, formerly of Celtic and now of Tottenham, were also shortlisted for this award back in September but didn't make the final cut. The winner of these illustrious prizes will be revealed at a London ceremony on January 15, 2024.
