Speaking on talkSPORT, Alan Brazil has revealed John McGinn would get the Old Trafford crowd going were he to move to Manchester United.
What did he say?
The Aston Villa ace has been in sparking form this season, already notching three Premier League goals for the newly-promoted side. He took his game up a notch in Scotland’s clash with San Marino on Sunday however, bagging himself a hat-trick as the Tartan Army thrashed the visitors 6-0.
Former Villa scout Bobby Jenks talked up a potential move to Old Trafford for McGinn when he remarked Sir Alex Ferguson would be keeping a close eye on the impressive Scot, and now, Brazil has echoed those sentiments.

He said: “He’s top class for me. I love that he works his socks off and is busy all the time. He’s got a great engine. Six weeks ago Manchester United were very interested in him.
“Without a doubt (he’s a good fit for United). McGinn would get the Old Trafford crowd going for a start, just with his energy and enthusiasm, and his ability.”
Dynamism
For a team so lacking in energy, creativity and goals, McGinn would undeniably have a major impact on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side. For the 24-year-old to hit the ground running at Villa Park is a testament of his incredible abilities. Already this season, the Scotland international has scored at north London giants Tottenham and Arsenal, and appears to have a real knack of making those penetrating runs from midfield.

In eight games in the Premier League, he has averaged three shots, 1.4 key passes and 2.3 dribbles per game. It’s the kind of all-action dynamism United could desperately do with. Between their central-based midfield options of Scott McTominay, Paul Pogba, Fred, Nemanja Matic, Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata, the Red Devils have a combined total of one goal in the top-flight this season. McGinn has three on his own.
If the Red Devils could pull off a swoop for the Villa man, they would be getting someone who would go a long way in solving their goal-scoring problems.
