Everton should try to prise Marko Arnautovic away from West Ham United if the East London outfit secure the signature of Roma striker Edin Dzeko.
What’s the word?
According to Calciomercato, the Hammers are pondering over a move for Dzeko, who is believed to be keen on a return to the Premier League.
The Bosnian is in good form in Italy, so if he was to move to the London Stadium it is likely that he would be played frequently.
On top of that, Dzeko already has a relationship with manager Manuel Pellegrini having worked under the Chilean during his time at Manchester City.
If this all transpires it could leave Arnautovic in a tricky position, which is why Everton should keep track of the situation.
Do they have a chance?
At the moment it would be ludicrous to suggest that the Austrian international would make a move.
The forward is hugely important to the Hammers and he has become a favourite among the fans.
However, things in football move swiftly and if Dzeko comes in, it may result in Arnautovic feeling unwanted.
The 29-year-old has not hidden away when he has a grievance, and if this occurred it could give Everton an opportunity to step in and persuade the attacker to move to Goodison Park.
The Merseyside outfit are in need of some attacking strength due to the failings of Cenk Tosun and Oumar Niasse.
At this moment in time a deal looks like a long shot, but if Pellegrini recruits his former player it could all change.
