The Premier League season is over… It gets asked after most campaigns, but this year it does really feel like a pressing question: was that the best Premier League season ever? Well, there are a number of arguments to suggest it might well have been:
Leicester City won the title Chelsea finished TENTH The Premier League welcomed Jurgen Klopp Spurs ‘Spurs-ed it up’ in horrific fashion Arsenal ‘Arsenal-ed it up’ in horrific fashion A player valued at one week of Wayne Rooney’s pay won the PFA Player of the Year Award The relegation fight claimed two of English football’s most famous teams (soz, not you, Norwich!
The official awards have now all been given out, so we at FFC Towers though that it would be a good idea to look at some alternatives… Granted, Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year and the Writers’ award all have their place, but there are some less than orthodox talking points that still need deciding. So we put it to you lot to vote, and here are the results!
Worst hair cut of the season…
WINNER – Raheem Sterling
No competition here, the Man City man picked up the bulk of out votes, beating competition from old favourite, Marouane Fellaini, and Samir ‘blonde bombshell’ Nasri.
Biggest disappointment of the season…
WINNER – Memphis Depay
So much was expected of the free-scoring winger, but he’s instead racked up more flash cars than goals or assists.
Biggest bottle job moment of the season
WINNER – Spurs bottling second place
Could the award have gone anywhere else? Arsenal ‘bottling the title’ came a close second.
Most pointless signing of the season…
WINNER – Alexandre Pato
It took months rather than days for the Brazilian to make his debut…
Worst kit of the season…
WINNER – Man City 3rd kit
We actually quite liked this one, but what do we know, eh?
Worst manager of the season…
WINNER – Steve McClaren
McClaren may well need a bodyguard on hand if he ever heads back to Tyneside…
Best moment of the season…
WINNER – Jamie Vardy breaking Ruud van Nistelrooy’s record
It was a while ago now, but Vardy’s 11 (well 13) goals in 11 games will never be forgotten… and probably never beaten!
Best kit of the season…
WINNER – Liverpool’s home kit
Not a great deal of competition, but it’s a nice kit, to be fair.
Best quote of the season…
WINNER – Klopp’s “Normal One†speech
“I don’t want to describe myself. I’m a totally normal guy, I came from the Black Forest. I’m the Normal One.†Bravo, Jurgen. Bravo.

Biggest social media gaffe…
WINNER – Joleon Lescott’s car tweet
Ironically many Villans fans had been offering to bundle him into the boot of their car and drive him far, far away from Birmingham for a while before this gaffe…

Most fragile player of the season…
WINNER – Jack Wilshere
