Liverpool fans will not want to lose their star player, Phillipe Coutinho.
If we believe what we’ve seen and heard, then a couple of his Brazil team-mates have urged the 23-year-old to move on and leave Anfield this summer.
After being voted Liverpool’s Player Of The Year last season and scooping four accolades in total, Jurgen Klopp surely had Coutinho in mind whilst planning the German revolution on Merseyside.
The Brazilian midefielder/winger was the clubs second highest goalscorer with 12 goals in all competitions and was pivotal in the regeneration of the Anfield side once Klopp took over as manager.
In 2013, Liverpool reportedly agreed a £8.5m fee with Inter Milan for Coutinho, whilst Brazilian great Pele tipped him for a great future after he was named in the 2015 PFA Team Of The Year.
The Reds midfielder was on sensational form on Thursday night as he bagged himself a hat-trick for Dunga’s side in a 7-1 victory over Haiti in Group B of the Copa America.
It has been suggested that Liverpool rejected an offer of £23m from Paris Saint-Germain for Coutinho, but with Filipe Luis wanting him at Atletico Madrid and Dani Alves saying that he should go to Barcelona, there will be no shortage of suitors.
There are reasons why he should explore leaving Liverpool and whilst it may upset Kopites everywhere, it is life within football that these types of players are never at your club for long…
Brazil
The playmaker has now started to establish himself within the Brazilian national team and Dunga, the national coach, quite rightly rates him very highly. His play and his goals on Thursday night against Haiti, demonstrated the talent that Brazil will need to exploit.
In attempting to qualify for the 2018 World Cup, Brazil are struggling in sixth place, four points behind leaders Uruguay. If Coutinho can continue to develop his game at the very highest level, then his abilities will be of benefit to the national team and his own chances of becoming a permanent fixture within it.
Champions League
Every top player wants to play in the Champions League. However, whilst many will actually play in the tournament, even fewer obtain the success after months of hard graft.
Only the very best teams make it to the last eight and onwards and so if the dream is to play in and have a chance of winning the cup, then Coutinho will have his eyes on those teams that can give him that glory.
Elite Teams
Following on from the Champions League argument, two the top teams in Europe have already started to seriously look at the young Brazilian. He has attracted interest from Barcelona and Atletico are said to be watching the player during the Copa America. Paris St Germain have apparently already tabled a bid, as will others once the Copa and the EURO finals are over.
The lure of more money, another challenge elsewhere and the possibility of playing for the very best domestically and in Europe could be enough to entice Coutinho and leave Klopp looking for that elusive replacement.

Liverpool
Finishing a disappointing eighth in the Premier League last season after a dismal start, Liverpool rallied under Klopp, but Coutinho will want better. He will want to win and challenge for the major honours and it will be up to Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp to convince him to stay and be a part of the re-emergence of a new Liverpool. However, as the bigger European teams circle overhead, will their pulling power be what defines his next move?

Trophies
Some of the best players ever to grace the game end their careers with a display cabinet devoid of medals and trophies. They look back on a partly successful career, but must have wished that they had signed for this or that team that would have given them something to reflect upon and polish every day.
Coutinho wants to win and recently he was quoted as saying: “I miss winning cups,” he said. “Copa America is another opportunity for me, because every player dreams of winning cups.” Liverpool were unlucky in two finals this year, but Coutinho will want more than maybe Liverpool can offer.
